Connect a printer
Using the gateway Mac
- Pair once. On a new iPad or laptop, scan the private QR code on the gateway Mac. The key is saved for future printers.
- Add the printer. Tap Add new printer, enter its current IP, and choose the model and paper width. The gateway option is selected automatically.
- Test and save. Tap Detect & connect, then Print test receipt. Save the printer for later use.
Keep the Mac awake and connected to the printer network. If the printer IP changes, edit its saved entry. No printer serial, Epson certificate, or ePOS-Print setting is needed.
Epson secure certificate setup
- Connect the Epson printer and iPad to the same reachable network. Give the printer internet access and the correct date and time.
- Enable ePOS-Print and Automatic Update of CA-signed certificates on supported firmware. Wait for a trusted certificate and Epson secure name.
- Tap Add new printer. Select Secure Epson certificate, enter its exact 10-character serial number, and add its IP if known. Keep device ID local_printer unless your printer uses another ID.
- Tap Detect & connect, check the model and paper width, then Print test receipt. Update the saved IP if it changes.
Approve this website to print
wants to print a receipt on this iPad. You only need to approve each website once. You can remove access below.
Connection & receipt settings
Select a saved printer or add another. Choose the secure Epson connection or the local gateway Mac for a printer without Epson’s certificate feature.
The connection check uses no paper. An exact model name is shown only if the printer makes it available to the browser.
Enter the printer's current IP, then check it or print a test receipt. The secure name is used for printing and automatically follows Epson's updated IP.
Secure Epson printing requires a compatible ePOS model and a valid secure printer name. An IP alone cannot be used from this HTTPS website. If the browser asks to access local devices, allow it.

Connect another website
Include the integration script on your website and call it from that website’s Print button. The first print asks for approval on this iPad; later prints go straight to the Epson.

Call printReceipt directly from a tap or click so Safari can open the printer page. Receipt data is sent between tabs on this iPad, not placed in the website URL.
